» What is the name of this 90s song?
Its about a son singing about his father and the advice his father gives him. Its long and a little sad. Some of the lyrics I remember include: "and the cow jumped over the moon" Who is the artist and what is the song title?there is a song called cat's in the cradle....lyrics here: My child arrived just the other day He came to the world in the usual way But there were planes to catch and bills to pay He learned to walk while I was away And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad You know I'm gonna be like you" And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon Little boy blue and the man on the moon When you comin' home dad? » FileReference fileupload doesn't work with large files
Hello Forum I am encoutering trouble with fileuploading using the new flash 8 fileReference class. The server seems to be set up to handle larger files (up to 20megs right now). I am not sure how to debug this. Anyone experienced this problem? We are using php in the backend and the middleware / server should be set up to handle fileuploads up to 20megs. Any insight or leads appreciated. thanks stephanI could well be wrong here, but I would check that there is no time-limit for these things. I know that when you are executing a PHP script there is a timelimit of default 30 seconds. Perhaps this is applied to file uploads aswell?I think you should define "trouble". What's the trouble exactly? Does the flash movie crash, does it just ...... - 2008-12-21

» I have trouble waking up in the morning. any tips?
i already get 8 hours of sleep per nightNo idea about the second part, about about your main question: 1. Do some jumping jacks, something physical to get yourself pumped up. 2. Drink something hot and strong. 3. Take a shower--a couple of minutes (or the whole shower) in coldness, so you can wake up. 4. Douse icy water all over your face. 5. Put anything icy cold down your back. That should wake you up. 6. Oh, yeah...turn on all the lights. You are more sleepy when you're in a dark room. 7. Throw off your blankets. You won't wake up any easier if you're warm and comfy. 8. Get out of bed. If you're laying there, you're more likely to go back to sleep than if you're standing up or walking around. 9. » What are the lights for along railroad tracks?
In Canada they are vertical, and can be green, yellow or red. I assume green mean you keep going and red means you must stop. Is this correct? What does the yellow light indicate? Sometimes there can be more than one light of the same colour.A three aspect signal as you are describing, can indicate a variety of things. All red = stop signal. If there is green in the signal, it means you are ok to go, but depending on where the green is, tells you at what speed. Green could also be flashing. If a steady green is at the top, then that is a clear signal and you can proceed at track speed (or at least the speed designated for your train). Basically if there is yellow and red only and the yellow is either steady or flashing, dependi...... - 2008-12-21

State ramping up avian flu testing http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/health/281383_avian16.html By CHARLES POPE P-I WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT WASHINGTON -- At first glance, Don Kraege and his team of biologists at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife would seem unlikely foot soldiers in the battle against pandemic flu. But in the eyes of the White House and federal health officials, Kraege and his counterparts in Alaska, Idaho, California, Oregon and Hawaii are essential pieces in the nation's sprawling effort to minimize the damage from avian flu. In coming days, Kraege and the Fish and Wildlife Department will ramp up efforts to capture and analyze migratory birds to determine whether the birds carry the H5N1 virus, which has b...... - 2008-12-21

The Final fantasy series used to be synonamous with quality all of them in english for the SNES and I love them all. I just think that since FF7, the game has worn out its story and its like a really bad movie franchise that is trying to suck the money out of people. There has not been new innovation in that game since 7 except for graphics which shouldn't make a game better than another. » Banding with Canon 5d
Hey all, I bought a 5d in May and since then I've noticed some strange banding throughout certain photos. If I'm taking photos indoors and there is a window with daylight coming in, there will most likely be a green horizontal line extending from the window throughout the shot. If I'm shooting outdoors at night, the same thing happens from street lights and such (with a red line). Sometimes indoors the light turns into a green halo if someone is standing in front of the window. What is doing this? And how do I correct it? I've lost a lot of good photos to this anomaly. I'm writing a C++ program in which there are a number of classes, many of which call each other's methods. I just tried to compile it, and discovered that the compiler gives an error every I call a method whose declaration is below the call in the file. I have forward declarations for all my classes, but I don't know of a way to do forward declarations for methods within the class. Perhaps this is why people normally have separate .h and .cc files. But I already wrote the program, and I don't want to have to rip the whole thing apart, so please let me know of any straightforward way you know of stopping the compiler from giving me all these errors. » Question about portrait photography...
What sort of lens (mm wise) do you NORMALLY use for portrait photography, and how far away are you usually from your subject? The reason I ask is I am an aspiring portrait photographer (very long way away from being one), and I want to know kind of what the sweet spot is mm wise for a digital camera (1.5 sensor). Do you usually find yourself shooting between like 50-100? I'm looking at a lens combo (like 18-55 and 55-200), but I don't want a setup that's going to make me have to swtich back and forth between two lenses all of the time. I also know a prime lens (like a 50 or an 85) is what true professionals use, but for amateur, fun work (photos of cute girls in my class, my nephews, etc.), what would be a good lens? regardless of genre For me: 3-Way Tie "London Calling" The Clash "Liquid Swords" GZA "Blue Train" John ColtraneOh, there are so many! In terms of my personal favorite, I'd have to say "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. Very few albums, in my opinion, achieve the staying power that DSOTM has. Decades later, it still remains a favorite among several generations. In terms of influence, however, I'd have to say Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue." Davis changed jazz forever. fan blade on shaft of alternator to make it turn how much wind in speed will it take to get 4 horse and will it turn with wind hitting the blade? I don't know how much force is needed on shaft to turn....It really depends on the size of the fan, and the size of the alternator and load placed on it. If you want to just stick an automotive type fan on the front I'd suggest using a plastic one out of a big truck or semi. Metal ones would put some load on the bearings and increase drag. H5N1 Confirmed in Two New Egyptian Patients Recombinomics Commentary December 23, 2006 The two Egyptians from the village of Hanut in the Gharbiya governorate contracted the disease after coming into contact with infected ducks they had been rearing in their homes, according to a ministry statement carried by the official MENA agency. The above description of two confirmed H5N1 cases is cause for concern. These two patients are from the same governate as the first confirmed case (http://www.recombinomics.com/News/10100601/H5N1_Egypt_Confirmed.html) for this season. I lost my original and need a new one.It depends on what state you were born in. Some states, you can request them online or over the phone, and then fax or mail in copies of your IDs. Other states require you to go to the county clerk or division of vital or public records to request them. There will be a fee, probably somewhere from $10-$20. You can find the phone number in the Government section of your phone book. Contact the County where you were born. Different states call it different things, usually Vital Statistics, or Vital Records. You usually have to provide proof of identification. Im a Catholic, and catholics pray to saints. My best friend says that im worshiping false idols everytime i pray to a saint. She says that in the Bible that im worng bc it says to worship only God. Is praying the same thing as worshiping? Are Catholics worng to pray to saints? DoYour friend is misinformed. As a Catholic, you know that you only worship God. There is a certain type of love that is only for God (it is called "latria") and it would be wrong to give to a saint or to the Blessed Virgin, because that would be idolatry. But Catholics do not do this. We admire the saints and sometimes ask them to pray for us, but that does not mean we worship them as gods.Praying is not the same as worshipping. If you could just appear there and watch the universe, You would be seeing our Galaxy in a very primitive form, just like it was 13.6 billion years ago... and you could see beyond our current horizon, likely seeing new stars - but also a large part of our currently known universe would be invisible to you, hidden behind the new horizon. The universe is neverending. Put anything icy cold down your back. That should wake you up. 6. Oh, yeah...turn on all the lights. You are more sleepy when you're in a dark room. 7. Throw off your blankets.

» What do you do when your significant other disapproves of your hobby?
Help.. Short version: I want to become a semi-pro, just bought my first digital SLR, my husband could care less about photography and despises the fact that I spend $550 (on ebay) for the canon digital rebel xti, which he views as frivolous and impulsive. Yet money came from my parents. Huge fight and bawling my eyes out, don't know where to go from here.. Skip the long version if you want, but please reply with suggestions... Basically, the topic in art at the moment is cultures. And to be honest, I don't really know what a culture IS. So, we are also supposed to chose one or two to research, and make a totem pole in the inspiration of... or something. I'm just completely clueless, so... ANY help at all is appreciated ... thanks! :D xA culture is the different elements of life that define who people are. Split it up, into points that can define the culture. I'm English, so if I were to have a totem pole, i would have somethign symbolising food such as fish and chips or roast beef (for the US, you could have a hamburger!) ,and then decide on other aspects of life that define Englishness, think of sport, theatre, books, films, and think o...... - 2008-12-21

» How much it cost to learn Martial Art per month?
like in Los Angeles area.the prices vary but some of the cheaper once end up costing you more. what I mean is that there are many schools that may say $50 a month but you have to buy a patch ($50) a pretest for test every month ($50), belt test ($100), in the end you will be paying a lot more than if you just paid $100 which is typical for an unlimited in the LA area (lived there about 3 months ago) you can go more expensive by looking at the Pretty places which will not teach you real arts and can save money by finding one of the places that are hidden (good luck unless you are part of one of the asian communities). there are a few that are about $100 a month without contracts and everything is included. as you are in LA you are blessed...... - 2008-12-21

I started photography using film and had two film cameras before the Nikon D70 was released. I put my film equipment in the closet and thought, "Yeah! Digital is the future!" So I spent a year or so shooting only digital. But the film cameras were calling out to me . . . So I got out my film equipment and started shooting with that. But I missed digital . . . then I missed film . . . ad nauseum. Then I went to medium format and got myself a lovely Contax 645. Mmm, good stuff. But shot for a while and thought, "Damn, I want to shoot digital so I can send photos to Mom and Dad back in Canada." Ugh. » State ramping up avian flu testing
» Why Final Fantasy Sucks.
Now Im usually not one to try to ruffle feathers or make broad pronouncments, but this time I feel like I have to... *rant mode... in OVERDRIVE" I should start off by saying I don't hate ALL final fantasy games, and I've played all of them up to a point. Every new one is the same old such and such character going to save some small part of his life ...... - 2008-12-21

I'm assuming you guys have heard of it, no? In case you didn't i'll beifly describe it. You take your lens turn it the worng way and hold it to the spot of the camera where you would normally put the lens, and this creates a "macro like" effect to the photos. I had a couple questions on this.. Is this safe? Has anyone tried it before? Can it hurt my camera? I wanna take a couple macro shots but I'm short of a lens. I treid it with my 18-55mm Kit lens but i want to kind of experiment.
Because many people die doing just like that, look at the recent chinese earthquake i had see picture of a guy die in the doorstep, yes is horrible. He's like just like a step or 2 to exit. You best bet is hide underneath a safe place like a desk etc.. Another you can do is to had a first aid kid, radio etc.. cellphone etc.. those will not work during like a strong quake, because of signal jam or too busy. You should had a land phone with you. don't go o...... - 2008-12-21
» Our mother recently passed away. Is it possible for the names of the 6 heirs to appear on land title?
Our mother owned 3 properties which are in the process of being transferred to her 6 heirs.I am sorry for your loss. Your question should be posted in another category. This thread deals with the monarchy, not with legal issues.Maybe BUSINESS and FINANCE is a better thread... I think a lawyer should be able to help transfer properties into a family trust for the six heirs. You can have as many names as you wish on the title. uh yes --but when you plan to sell all 6 have to agree to price...which there will always be someone not wanting to sell for sentimental reasons or selfish ones... could one of you buy the others out at a fair price? or split the properties if it is a lot of land? wasn't it in the will of how to divide propert...... - 2008-12-21

» SERIOUS MUSIC LOVERS: Best Album Ever?
regardless of genre For me: 3-Way Tie "London Calling" The Clash "Liquid Swords" GZA "Blue Train" John ColtraneOh, there are so many! Ready To Die - Notorious B.I.G. Rastaman Vibration - Bob Marley & The Wailers Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - Smashing Pumpkins Innercity Griots - Freestyle Fellowship Give and Take - Clintion Fearon -Liquid Swords is also on...... - 2008-12-21
» If i put a fan blade on a alternator how much wind in speed to turn it to get 4 horse power out of it?
fan blade on shaft of alternator to make it turn how much wind in speed will it take to get 4 horse and will it turn with wind hitting the blade? I don't know how much force is needed on shaft to turn....It really depends on the size of the fan, and the size of the alternator and load placed on it. If you want to just stick an automotive type fan on the front I'd suggest using a plastic one out of a big truck or semi. Metal ones would put some load on the bearings and increase drag. Good luck with your homemade wind generator....... - 2008-12-21
» My new one - Bridget Riley colourful building
All the groovy artistic types in Kirupaville want to live here. It is based on the paintings of Bridget Riley who first sprang to fame in the sixties as what was known as an op artist. (although I'm sure you all know that) her work can be seen here so comparisons can be made to the building: http://www.artnet.com/Artists/ArtistHomePage.aspx?artist_id=14272&page_tab=Artworks_for_sale Anyway here is the building: As always it took ages so if you like it - then please comment :) All the best. » Egypt outbreak - Dr Niman comments
H5N1 from that case had many of the Egyptian associated polymorphisms seen in February 2006 human and bird isolates from Egypt. However, the more recent isolate had severa...... - 2008-12-21

» Where can I get a new birth certificate?
I lost my original and need a new one.It depends on what state you were born in. Some states, you can request them online or over the phone, and then fax or mail in copies of your IDs. Other states require you to go to the county clerk or division of vital or public records to request them. There will be a fee, probably somewhere from $10-$20. You can find the phone number in the Government section of your phone book. Contact the County where you were born. Different states call it different things, usually Vital Statistics, or Vital Records. You usually have to provide proof of identification. You won't get a copy of the original; you'll get a new one issued on whatever form they currently use.Hawaiiask obama he got him ...... - 2008-12-21
» Work Force Patterns
Would like to know the average number of external visitors per month per employee for different size businesses. Small (1 - 35) employees. Medium (35 - 5000) Large (20,000). An external visitor is any non-employee. So an employee based in one location visiting an employee based in another would NOT count. No problem if data is not aligned exactly with size of businesses I indicated. Found one good example of a data point at this URL http://www.wisconsin.edu/impact/UWSReport.pdf indicating 24.4 visitors per employee....... - 2008-12-21

A friend of mine has this tattoo but can't remember the exact meaning of the Kanji symbols, can someone tell us what it means... Pic attached... Thanks...It means "lives in the present" or "exists now"....I don't think it is Japanese but that would be the basic idea behind the combination of those two kanji. In Japanese, the characters are 生現, which I suppose would be pronounced shougen. It's not a real word, at least not in Japanese. What does your friend think it means?pretty nice looking kanji compared to some I've seen though........ - 2008-12-21

» How many is to many?
Well, I had nightmares all night that I would take a picture...look at my LCD screen and every single shot was blown beyond recognition. Thats NOT how my first session went. It went great! Aside from a moody two year old and a 3 year old who hates the camera I got 80 (after I elimenated 100 yucky ones) focused, propperly exposed pictures of a happy loving family. Now for my question. How many proofs do you usualy present? Just for those who don't know this was a portfolio building session, no session fee. Not that that really matters I would still like to get an idea of what apropriate to offer clients when I get to that point.family portraits? - 5 to 40 - depends on your style, the family's style, i.e. are they outgoing and charismatic...... - 2008-12-21

» Are Catholics worshiping false idols bc it says nothing about worshiping any1 other than god in the bible?
Catholics recognise the saints ...... - 2008-12-21

» I have a question for all smart people :D?
If I'm running at twice the speed of light, and reach the end of the universe, then run though the edge... where do I go??You can't be running at twice the speed of light at all. You can sure accelerate long enough to think, you are that fast, but it will not matter. Your target would not come faster towards you than a large fraction of the speed of light. And we wou...... - 2008-12-21

» Voiglander Bessa R
Does anyone own a Voiglander Bessa R or know someone who does? The few reviews I found seem to be totally positive or negative (no middle ground), with about 70% of them being positive. I'm think about getting one http://www.cameraquest.com/jpg4/vbesRs1.jpgI wish I did. Does that count? :P It looks like the negatives center around quality control (rangefinder alignment, etc.). You might just have to return it a couple of times until you get a good one.cameraquest (http://www.cameraquest.com/inventor.htm) has them for just 250 USD, that cheap for a rangefinder (body only), it 39mm Leica Screw Mount, I have a Canon IV but don’t like how you load the film, it's a pain in the buttSorry, only just seen this. » Tommy Stinson/Perfect/Johnny Thunders
I'm baaack!! In the late 90's, Tommy Stinson, during his Perfect days, covered Johnny Thunders song,"Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory", live in concert, probably Minneapolis, around Xmas time I think I read somewhere in my hopeless search. It appears, apparently, on a live version of 1,2,3 Times a Maybe, which was then titled 7 Days a Week. My question is, is the Stinson version of "Can't Put Your Arms Around a Memory" available anywhere, in any format, or is Stinson's cover available on some other release, again, in any format? I would also take just a download from somewhere if that is all that can be found.Dear Canadianhelper: Thanks, this adds more clues to the chase. And I'm glad I could lead you into new mu...... - 2008-12-21
